This website, like everything about The Akira Concept, is unfiltered, authentic, and true.
We are our own architects and designers for this site, as well as for all materials for our teaching and books. We take great pride in being able to write our own copy (grammar mistakes and all), take our own photos (unprofessional and untouched … except for a few that good human, Elie Landesberg captured with and for us), and create engaging user experiences (in print, online, and in real life). This is what happens when over 60 years of experience of varied expertise and like-minded passions collide, along with family, friends, and colleagues who are interested and willing to be part of the Wellness Intelligence Movement. The Akira Concept would not be possible without the support and love of these amazing people in our every day lives:
Megan Khosroshahi for deciphering our often convoluted messages and requests and managing to help us (understatement) to get everything on paper and online with grace and care.
Ryan Storm for his dedication, responsiveness, and grammar lessons as our self-appointed, and often called upon, Akira Concept Intern.
Joey Storm for her smile, and for being a kind food unicorn nourishing us while we work in so many ways.
Andy Storm for his comic relief, endless hugs and “hugs”.
Rob Storm for his unwavering support, love, patience, for proofreading and for always being ready, willing, enthusiastic, for being our real life guinea pig.
Our friends and colleagues for their unconditional support even when they didn’t understand us … we are grateful and appreciative.
Our mentors and guides (the ones that know they are, and the ones that don’t) for their inspiration and wisdom.
The Akira Concept is an ever-evolving result of being curious and excited to learn. We see ourselves as curators and stewards of other people’s remarkable thoughts and work. We acknowledge our privilege to stand on the shoulders of those who dive deep in their expertise. In turn, we give and share what we are so grateful to receive from others (directly and indirectly). We absorb, digest, distill, curate, and deliver ideas and practices in this one place and hope that it serves you well.
We are also grateful for the love from our community (in real life and virtually) … it inspires and enables us to take on all we do. We hope to make this “realness” spread … we want to change the world through our hearts, our work … and our Wellness Intelligence Movement.
We welcome all feedback … we are open-minded and want to continually grow and evolve (for ourselves and for you too).
