Enjoy all of our “Favourite Things” knowing that we take great pride in curating what we believe to be best in class. Everything we offer and share are people, places, and things that we appreciate and use ourselves. All of goods we share with you are just that … good!
This resource library of “Favourite Things” exists because you ask us what you should be reading, wearing, drinking from, cleaning with, eating, cooking and doing! We ask you to check back here often, as we are constantly adding (every Wednesday in The Wellness Intelligence Collective) to and refining our list and selections, and sometimes, sadly, we have to remove items that we recommended from it too. Things change. That’s not an excuse, it’s a fact. And unfortunately, not all shifts and changes are for the better. Part of the challenge with online “evergreen” content is that our perspective and posts remain, but the referrals to products and people hyperlinked within our content lives on also, and the values, ingredients, and quality of service of the brands and people we refer to are not necessarily “evergreen”. We are uncompromising and always try to update what we are doing so as not to mislead you! One simple thing to consider … even if it is one of our favourite things, don’t buy it if you don’t need it. Full Disclosure: Our favourite things list is not financially driven. It serves as a “shortcut” to us answering the many questions asked by so many … of course, like with everything we do, we hope to build a community around making great choices, with the help of each other. Lisa has been an investor in good people, good brand, and good businesses since 1994 through her marketing firm, Borden Communications. Many of her clients are suppliers and sponsors of ours as well. Often, she was a raving fan of the brands before she worked with them, and other times working with them, turned her into a loyal customer … and likely will have that effect on you too. In any case, our motivation in sharing them through The Akira Concept is to share our own favourite resources. Period. There is so much discourse about conflict of interest and full disclosure, so we want to let you know that although we are biased about a lot of things, when we wear a shirt and think it’s the comfiest thing we’ve ever worn, or when we’ve been well fed every week for a years and years at a farmers’ market by the same people, we want to share. There is NOTHING on this list, or in any of our work that is simply placed here to cash in. Everything shared has taken us a long time (a lifetime) to assemble and keep as up to date as possible, and yes, some links have affiliate codes attached to them, and we might earn 8 cents if you purchase a book that we recommend. Please know that we might have received a free sample, and they might be a sponsor (or client of ours or Lisa’s), but more often than not, we just want you to know about the good that we have found to be good!
What is it? Sustainably wild-harvested, naturally processed raw pine pollen. From tree to jar – just as nature intended, this fair-traded one-of-a-kind forest food is a powerful functional food, dense…
